DRAMA

On leaving drama school, Nicola Gardner landed the lead role of Beatrice Joanna in ‘The Changeling’ for Aspects Theatre Company. The role of Lucretia in Shelley’s ‘The Cenci’ followed. Although enamoured of the stage, Nicola has an impressive TV resume, having appeared in numerous prime time productions such as Coronation Street, Emmerdale and The Royal.

Brookside opened the door to featured roles and Nicola played the part of Vonnie Johnson whose troubled teen Jerome (Leon Lopez) became the protégé of relative Mick Johnson (Louis Emenck).

Nicola has always had an involvement in black performance art and she is passionate about theatre that expresses important social and cultural heritage issues. She has appeared in pivotal roles for Black Arts Development in two of their productions, ‘A Raisin in the Sun’ & ‘A Caribbean Abroad’. These powerful matriarchal roles further cemented Nicola’s reputation as an actress of unusual talent.

Nicola’s amazing presence has led to her being cast in many executive type roles such as solicitors, barristers, doctors and company directors — indeed Nicola has appeared in many corporate videos, training films and role play scenarios.

Nicola also runs a training consultancy, using drama techniques to monitor progress, assess ability, develop skills & consolidate performance. Private & public sector organisations have employed Nicola’s consultancy to reenergise front line and management personnel. Clients include companies such as Sodexho, Tate Modern, Dun & Bradstreet and the National Probation Service.
